True feelings

Sometimes I feel like vanishing to somewhere only I know about, sometimes people don't understand me and I only wish to God that they could. I became a witch because this is the path I want to follow, this is what appeals to me and nothing else. I just feel crushed by being in Salisbury sometimes, I feel like i'm drowning in a sea of poison. I want people to take notice of me but for the right reasons. If I had more money then I would most probably spend all my time down Devon, but I have to be realistic and I know lifes not going to be like that. I am searching for something only my guides know about, I feel like I'm shouting into the dark but no one is listening! I want to find true love, someone who's going to like me for being me, and not what I could be. Do you know I'm being killed by loneliness, if only I had the confidence then I could be the person I want to be instead of this bloody shy woman I can't get rid off. I have been fighting for freedom from this for years, bloody years; I hate what I have become.

There is one bloke I feel drawn to called John, we are just close friends at the moment. i don't think any thing will happen as he keeps odd hours and had problems of his own. He gets up at 7pm and goes to bed at 7am, he doesn't really do a lot with his life as I have big plans of my own. He has depression and always talks about topping himself. I can see a really nice guy inside but he needs to help himself as I can't do it

Glastonbury - a view for visitors

They met office say it's going to be a hot one, and they are right. This time I travelled down without Sally which is better for me, ashe she just stresse's me out, I can still rember the last time she came down with me. She ran out of money and expected me to pay out everthing for her, then started petty argumernts with me when she couldn't get her own way! She also took over everthing I wanted to do, and I didn't get to do all the things I wanted. This time was different as it was me in charge and I was looking forward to it. The weather was nice and sunny, I made sure I got to the station in time. Saw Liz Stout on the way to Oxfam and stopped to talk for a while, I had my England bandana on because England had a big game against Argentina on Saturday. I managed to get the 10.40 train, not so crowded this time which is a damn nightmare. Got talking to another lady who was going to bath, it's amazing the people you meet, she was doing her knitting which is something I have long forgotten. Got off at Bristol Temple Meads, had about 15 minutes until the bus, you can always hear the sound of seagulls in the station althrough we are miles from the sea. Caught the 376 bus which was going to Street, I havn't been there for a long time but I might check it out at a later date. Takes an hour and three minutes to get to Glastonbury, have to stop at Wells first. Looks a nice little town, but there doesn't seem to be a lot there.

Got to Glastonbury at 12ish, couldn't sign in until 4.00, so I left my bag and wandered down to the libuary, it is the smallest one I have ever seen but it was nice and cool away from the haet. Found the witchcraft and Wicca section which is intresting, took down some notes for later. I didn't look at the shops yet as that's something I had planned for Saturday before I went to find somewhere to watch the game. Signed into the big orange room, there wasn’t anyone there yet. Went to find a Safeway and Morrisons supermarket, I chose Morrisons which is about five mins away. Sat outside by the crown which is the pub that also belongs to Backpackers. I can’t use a grill in the kitchen, as they don’t have one, although they do have a microwave. Met two other girls, one is from Sweden, while the other is staying at the hostel until she can get the keys to her house in Glastonbury. Beds were quite comfortable although the room was very stuffy due to the heat, so I slept on top of the bed instead. Blue skies and warm sunshine in the morning, I could choose what-ever I wanted instead of Sally’s damn nagging all the time which I had to put up with! I went to the TIC which has a small courtyard, there’s also a Goddess Temple where you can remove your sandals or shoes and sit down to meditate. It was very hot and the wooden boards of the balcony were burning my feet, I almost feel asleep in the temple. I did manage to get to the Tor, I missed the bus and there wouldn’t be one until 2pm and gut feeling told me to go down to the big car park. I discovered that a taxi was going up with two other people for half the price. It was boiling so I grabbed hold of a drink from the newsagents, the climb up to the Tor took about fifteen minutes but it was well worth it for the view. Met a family who were passing through, the friend who was with me said she could see the lay lines running from the Tor. Walked down the Chalice Well Gardens, legs were KILLING me! It’s very pleasant in the gardens; the water you can drink which comes out of a lion’s mouth has a tinny taste. I put my feet into the spring and my toes actually went numb. There’s a tap outside the garden, but a lot of homeless gather round there. I never did look at the Glastonbury town museum, maybe next time.

I did watch the game at the Crown next door to the hostel. I sat on a table on my own next to two ladies who thought they were there for a quiet drink, yeah right! Someone had a football horn and there was a lot of yelling and cheering, we were so bloody close but there was a lot of fouling etc; then Rooney was bloody sent off! That was so bloody wrong! David Beckham is stepping down from being captain so I don’t know who will take over. Someone smashed d a beer glass in anger at Rooney’s departure. I could have worn my England shirt, but I couldn’t be bothered as the heat was up. Went to the abbey on Sunday, the weather was nice. It was so peaceful all you cold hear was the wind in the trees and the birds. I managed to find Arthur’s grave and tagged a long with a tour and some school kids. Found the fish and duck pond, there was a big fish cruising round, even the geese looked fagged out. Touched the holy thorn, although I think the original is up on the Tor, I need to look for Magog and Gog two ancient oak tree’s. Said goodbye to the goddess before I left on Monday for the bus, I also saw Dianne in there which was nice. It's been an experience which I hope to repeat. Ted said he would like to come with me, lets hope the weather keeps up.

Downton Cuckoo Fair

One of the better ways to celebrate May and one of the longest events in the area. Went with Jenny and Ryan this year, they are friends of mine who are in Lifestyles. Had to meet Penny at Debenenhams at 10.45 with Ted, before rushing like a bolt of lightening to the post office only to find that the qeaue was halfway out the door and down the street! Jenny & Ryan didn't turn up until one anyway which was annoying as the event starts at 10am. I spent the next two hours playing Avengers pin ball on his pc, Barbara has a high score on the Roswell pinball which I don't think anyone will beat.
Downton is about 5 miles out of Salisbury, I have cycled there through Odestock village; i think the council are fixing the bridge at the moment. There's a large field at Downton which they turned into a carpark, you can tell which car was Ryans because he had two England flags on the doors. One of them he had lost that afternoon & was seen on the embankment by the Highpost. Everyone's going to have those soon, as England are compeating for the cup in June. The Cuckoo Fair is always crowded, it's hard to stay together without someone getting in the way.
The Fair is very popular, with 20,000 visitors probably there. There's lots of stalls (250) & two tents which are like ovens, you can also see steam rising from the barbeque stands. I managed to find a Pentagram ring, or rather Penny saw it for me. It was about £7.99 & much cheaper then the market, I will be visiting Glastonbury on Monday so I will have to reign myself in; I intend to get a Moon calandar.
Jenny got annoyed that Ryan & Ted vanished & rang them up, found them by the maypole. There was a bloke doing Hank Marvin songs & he was very good. I was quite surprised at the weather as it was pleasant, shame it will be raining when I go to Glastonbury on Monday.
Left round about 4pm, I think most people will gather at the Bull in Downton to get pissed (basically). We stopped off at Teds, as he had to get some things as he is staying up Jennys. Buzzed off to the Laverstock social where we spent the next evening getting razzled, nice to see everyone again. For more details of these places & people I have mentioned, they have been listed elsewhere.

The child stealers

Hi this is my story I have nothing to hide so I might as well get on with it. Please feel free to put comments on if you wish, no nasty one's please because this will deterimine my decision of whether I should live or, die.
I would like to bring to people’s awareness regarding the many parents who are being labelled ‘unfit to parent’ by social services, just because they have a learning difficulty. There’s no help what’s-so-ever for parents out there with learning difficulties, too many are frightened to ask for help lest they get accused of being 'unable to cope'. In my eyes, social services are animals who will stop at nothing to get what ever thay want; even if that means ripping a family apart!
People with learning problems are treated a lot more harsher, then someone who hasn’t got learning difficulties. I attended the conference ran by Change in London on January 11th, and hope to start a group up called ‘Parenting without Prejudice’ which will help these people to get the help they so deserve. Disabled people and people with learning difficulties have a right to be parents, and shouldn’t live in fear of their children being taken away never to be seen again; except in memory. The then childrens Minister (Margaret Hodge) was invited to the change conference, but made excuses not to turn up! The change Conference was like the Nuremberg Trials.
I’m was mother of a 11mth old boy who had severe eczema; I also have a mild learning difficulty which is boarder-line, & curvature of the spine (Scoliosis) which is progressive.
My son was due a feed and I didn’t know how to make it up then, I pulled the cord to call a nurse. The social worker got impatient and went off to the kitchen, and put her nail varnished hands into my steraliser, to get my bottle out. I had to dispose of the whole lot and clean it out, some of her nail varnish came off as well and was floating around my bottles, and I don’t think my nurse was very happy! My solicitor found us a foster carer’s place to take us on after we left hospital which was miles away from my parents, until a place could be found at a mother and baby unit. I had to keep going to court and a care order was made. I didn’t understand what I did wrong, it was very confusing. I had to undergo an IQ test where I had to answer such questions like what was the speed of light. I also had to match up coloured blocks from a book. My IQ was low anyway, because I was under a lot of stress. What the speed of light got to do with bloody parenting!I was sent to a mother and baby unit after two weeks which was right across the country, I was the only one there with a learning disability. I didn’t know anyone and the staff were quite harsh, it was like being in an open prison in my eyes. I wasn’t allowed out for more than an hour with my son and everything I did was written up in a report for the staff to see. My reports were never any good, full of complaints and criticisms. I had to see a councillor who wrote everything down word for word everything I said for the staff to read, which supposed to be in confidence (fat chance of that!). I was supposed to be there for six month’s; the assessment broke down after six weeks because they said I was too slow. They took my son away without warning to a foster carer’s near where I lived, while I had to make my own way back home. I love my son very much, I see him for any hour at children’s resource centre through supervised contact. He’s already forgotten who I am. I just wanted to bring to attention to what is happening to a lot of parents in my situation. I didn’t do anything wrong, my only crime was to have a learning difficulty. I will never see my darling boy again, and I will never ever forget him.
